Hey everyone
So now that that the Valium has worn off i can type here with the hope of no spelling mistakes (hmm maybe)
Anyway this morning was the day of IVF transfer round 2. I thought my luck was in when we arrived and the acupuncturist took me straight back for my 30 min treatment. Usually i have to wait ages before anything is done.
The acupuncture went well ( i think) i didnt feel any more relaxed but i think i was chilled out anyway. She put on in my left foot, left knee, 4 in my stomach, 1 in my right wrist, 4 in my right ear and one in my head. She then put electrodes on 2 in the stomach area which made them vibrate. i got to lay there like that for 30 mins.
After that we had to wait ages - see i knew we had it too good. Finally the Doctor appears and says she has great news. Both the embryos defrosted well and they are over 100 cell blasts. They assisted them for hatching so they should release easily.
The actually transfer was easy, we got to see the white dot on the screen where the embryos were put.
Then back to the acupuncture for another 20 mins. This time i fell asleep because i had taken Valium.
I am now on the sofa with all the necessities around me. Rich is playing butler once again.
It looks promising but still a 50/50 chance, lets hope its the right 50 this time :)
This is my first attempt at a blog. Hopefully it will help us to get through some of the tough road ahead on our journey

Secure and Ready
Hello all from a somewhat humid and drizzly California - hmm hope this doesn't last!.
So as you will of seen i had to re invite you to view my ramblings. Unfortunately someone reading decided to share some of my info and i felt that was not on so i have locked it down :)
Anyway i went to the hospital this morning for a scan check and blood draw. A new nurse took my blood today and made me bleed a lot more - she needs the practise. My left arm has a great vein (apparently) but there is no need to keep stabbing it.
The doctor was fashionably late AS USUAL ! i dont know why i always choose the 8.30am appointment because she is never there until 9am. They always make me sit in the room on the table unclothed from the waist down with just a paper skirt for company. I'd much rather they let me sit in the waiting room with the TV until she is ready - Obviously fully clothed :p.
Everything looks wonderful though, my uterus has a lovely triple lining (whatever that means) and she always likes to point out where the embryos will implant :)
After that a quick check with the nurse about the next drugs and then on to psyching Rich up ready for the injections in the butt again.
So from now on i stay on the Estrogen 3 times a day. On Sunday i add in Medrol for a week in a reducing dose (a steroid) and progesterone injections at night before bed.
I am scheduled for the transfer on Friday 28Th at 10am with 30 Min's of acupuncture before and after. The after is going to feel weird i reckon as i will have taken Valium by then.
I feel good but i am expected to feel a little more tired as next week goes on, I'll take it though.

Mini Update
Wow all this house decorating is keeping me nice and busy i forgot to update in here.
My nurse called me on Friday to ask if i could move my transfer date to the Friday because my doctor was going to a conference.Of course i don't mind as it means bed rest is Friday, Saturday and Sunday so i miss less work - and not too many to explain why i am having the day off!
Estrogen is hopefully working well, there is no way to tell until they do a scan on Friday - they will then tell me how much more i need to take. Oh and the dreaded progesterone shots will start this coming weekend as well.
I've been surrounded by more pregnancy announcements as well this past week. I wonder if i wanted a new BMW as much as i do a baby everyone would have one of those as well.
I did have a little moan to someone else that is pregnant through IVF and she told me not to worry about others announcements, when i have my own i won't care!!! Huh i really hope i have a little more respect for people and can enjoy it with them rather than not caring.
That being said of course i am very happy for anyone procreating but you gotta realise it stings a little every time.
Back to more painting until the end of the week then, someone mentioned it was therapeutic - HA :) !!

No more jabs in the belly
Yey i am done with injections for 2 weeks now and more poor tummy is very grateful. I must remember for the furture not to inject the right side of my stomach as i must hit a vein there :) Same spot always bruises and gets sore!!
Estrogen increases to 3 times a day tomorrow, i hope i handle this ok as i have noticed i have started to become a little more sensitive. Unsettled was how i described it earlier which got a response ''its the hormones'' (this is Richards standard response)
I've been keeping myself busy with room decorating but the idea of painting everything is getting a little old now! Oh well at least i am busy.

Bring on the Estrogen
Hello,
Sorry i haven't updated for a while, life has been crazy with moving house. I can gladly say that we are moved now though and all the stresses and strains of the last month have vanished.
So where did i get to, well i went last week to the hospital to have a baseline scan done and some blood tests. Normal stuff really for the beginning of the cycle. I was told to take the birth control pill until the 2nd August and also start the Lupron.
My body is behaving perfectly again which is great and i am due to start taking the Estrogen tomorrow. This helps to make the embies home nice and comfy and habitable seeing as ive been taking a drug to suppress that. I am assuming that taking estrogen tablets will make me go a bit crazy - so watch this space.
Still all go for the 27th :) and in the mean time i have lots of painting to keep me busy. I've just done my first ever ceiling !!!!
I must say this is a much more relaxed way to do this. Much less monitoring required and a lot less injecting myself - yey
